What Makes a Good Relish?

A good relish starts with the vegetable on the label. In many supermarket relishes, sugar or water comes first in the ingredient list. In every Women's Work relish, it's the onion, tomato, beetroot or cucumber.

Each one is made in small batches from a family recipe, so you get real texture and real flavour rather than a sweet, smooth paste. The Caramelised Onion has 70% less sugar than the supermarket alternative we compared it with. The Beetroot has 3.5 times the beetroot. And the Hot Dog Relish took Gold at the 2023 Sydney Royal Fine Food Show.

One spoonful turns a simple sandwich, sausage or cheese board into something that tastes like someone went to a lot more trouble.
