This recipe for braised beef is the perfect comfort food for a cosy night in.
The beef chuck roast is cut into bite-sized cubes and seasoned with Tweed Real Food Lime Pepper Grinder Salt.
It is then browned and combined with garlic, beef broth, red wine, bay leaves and bay leaves.
The pot is then placed in the oven for three hours to create a tender, flavourful dish.
This hearty meal is perfect for entertaining or for a cosy dinner at home with loved ones.
- 2 lbs beef chuck roast, cut into 2-inch cubes
2 Tbsp Tweed Real Food Lime Pepper Grinder Salt
2 Tbsp olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup red wine
- 2 bay leaves
1 Tbsp fresh thyme leaves
Preheat the oven to 180C.
In a small bowl, mix the Lime Pepper Grinder Salt
Season the beef cubes with the seasoning mixture, making sure to coat each piece well.
In a large casserole dish or oven-safe pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add the beef cubes to the pot and brown them on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the beef cubes from the pot and set them aside.
In the same pot, add the garlic and cook for about 5 minutes.
Add the beef broth, red wine, bay leaves, and thyme leaves to the pot. Stir well to combine.
Return the beef cubes to the pot and bring the liquid to a simmer.
Cover the pot and place it in the preheated oven. Cook for 2 hours.
After 2 hours, remove the pot from the oven. Stir well to combine the mixture .
Return the pot to the oven and cook for an additional 1 hour
Remove the pot from the oven and discard the bay leaves. Serve the braised beef and enjoy!
