Dive into this Russian Chicken (style)! One of the most beloved Russian dishes is chicken kiev so they know a thing or two about chicken!
This dish consists of a buttery chicken breast that is wrapped around a filling of garlic and herbs, then breaded and fried.
The result is a tender, flavourful chicken that is sure to please even the most finicky eater. While chicken kiev is often thought of as a restaurant dish, it is actually quite easy to make at home.
With just a few simple ingredients, you can enjoy a taste of Russia in your own kitchen.
500 - 600g chicken breast fillets
1 large onion, diced
300g semi dried tomatoes
300g mushrooms, roughly chopped
2 Tbsp Tweed Real Food Simply Stroganoff Seasoning - Limited Edition
1 cup pure cream
60g or 2 packed cups baby spinach leaves
In a large deep cast iron pot or fry pan, over medium high heat, fry the onions in butter until soft, 5 - 7 minutes.
Slide the onions to one side of the pan and cook chicken for 2 minutes on each side, until the thighs are sealed and slightly browned.
Add 2 Tbsp Simply Stroganoff Seasoning and cook until fragrant, 1 - 2 minutes.
Add the mushrooms, sundried tomatoes and cream and stir... scraping any onions or seasoning from the base of the pan.
Simmer on low for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add spinach and cook until wilted.
