Mulled Winter Wine
- 700mls red wine
- 500mls sparkling apple cider
- 1 cup of water
- 3 Tbsp Tweed Real Food Choc Berry Splash Balsamic Vinegar
- 2 oranges, peeled, halved and then thinly sliced
- 4 star anise
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 6 cardamom pods, bruised/crushed
- 6 cloves
You may like to have additional spices and orange slices for decorating the glass.
Pour red wine, apple cider, water and spices into a large pot and heat on low-medium heat.
Add the orange peel and orange slices.
Heat slowly for a minimum of 30 minutes so the flavours infuse the wine mix.
Once very warm, add the Choc Berry Splash Balsamic Vinegar and stir.
Keep the pot on a very low heat for the duration of enjoying the wine.
**Avoid any boiling, not even a light simmer, as this will reduce the liquid and remove the alcohol from the wine.
Serve into glasses or mugs and decorate to your hearts delight.
