- Melted butter, to grease
- 125g butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup golden or maple syrup
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose, plain flour
- Optional decorations (ready made icing, smarties, lollies etc)
Preheat oven to 180 degrees
Grease 2 baking trays with melted butter
Combine the butter, sugar in a bowl using an electric mixer until it becomes creamy.
Add the golden or maple syrup and only the yolk from the egg, beat further until all combined.
Stir through the flour, baking powder, ground ginger and Cookies & Crumble Baking Blend.
Lightly flour the kitchen bench and knead the dough until it is smooth / not lumpy and stays together well. Cover and refrigerate for half an hour.
Using a rolling pin, roll the dough out to about half a centimetre thick.
Using a ginger bread cookie cutter, cut out shapes and place on trays 1 - 2 centimetres apart.
